We are on a mission to enrich the lives of youth athletes living in and around the Como Park neighborhood by nurturing a love for baseball and softball. We'll provide an inclusive and dynamic environment where you can learn, play, and grow. In-House Baseball Leagues

Como Ball is proud to partner with several St. Paul Youth Baseball and Softball associations. Highland Ball, Parkway Little League, Woodbury, and The Westside Boosters will all send teams and host our in-house teams over the summer in order to create competitive, fun rivalries around the city!

Summer Season Dates: May - July, 2025

Como Ball provides an in-house program for boys and girls ages 4-12.

Player Evaluation

Youth players 9 and up will attend a preseason evaluation. At that time, coaches will evaluate players on several criteria and may suggest that players move up or down between leagues to achieve league parity.

Coed Tee Ball (ages 4-5)

Our Tee Ball league is all about fun and learning the basics of baseball. We want to spark a love for the game in a supportive, energetic environment where children are introduced to teamwork, coordination, and the fundamentals of baseball. 

Players will learn the basics of catching, throwing, and hitting off a tee. They'll also work on coordination, motor skills, and following directions. Parent involvement is encouraged, with parents often helping children during the first few sessions. 

Schedule: Two 60-minute sessions per week: one practice and one game. Days & Times: Mondays & Thursday at 5pm

Location: Como Picnic Pavilion Fields

Coed Coach Pitch (ages 5-6)

Coach Pitch is designed to bridge the gap between hitting off a tee and hitting a pitched ball. The focus is on advancing basic baseball skills while ensuring the players continue to enjoy the game. 

Players will practice hitting a pitched ball, catching, throwing, and learning base running fundamentals. All players will get equal playtime, and we keep the environment positive by not keeping score. 

Schedule: Two 60-minute sessions per week: one practice and one game. Days & Times: Mondays & Thursday at 6:05pm

Location: Como Picnic Pavilion Fields

Coed Machine Pitch (ages 7-8)

In our Machine Pitch league, we aim to introduce a more structured game while still emphasizing fun and development. Players gain confidence in hitting consistently pitched balls, fielding, and making plays.

The focus is on building hitting mechanics with a machine-pitched ball, while developing fielding, base running, and understanding the flow of the game. Players start learning about making outs and basic team strategies. 

Schedule: One 60-minute practice and one 90-minute game per week. Days & Times: TBD

Location: Como Picnic Pavilion Fields

Little League Baseball (ages 9-12)

Little League introduces a more competitive environment while still fostering growth and skill development. Players are divided into the American League (AL) for more experienced athletes and the International League (IL) for players still honing their skills.

Players will focus on improving their hitting, pitching, fielding, and overall game awareness. Sportsmanship, teamwork, and strategy are also emphasized as players begin to compete in a structured league setting. 

Schedule: Practices and games are held 2-3 times per week. Days & Times: Weekday evenings and weekends.

Travel Ball Plus

13a Travel Baseball

All 13-year-old players and some 12-year-old players by way of special invite will play in a 13a MYAS Gopher State traveling league. 

The 13a Travel Baseball League is designed for players who are ready for a more competitive and challenging environment. This league emphasizes skill refinement and competition in a travel format.

Players will continue developing advanced skills like pitching, hitting, and fielding under pressure. There is a strong emphasis on game strategy, teamwork, and mental toughness as they compete against teams from other communities. 

Schedule: 16 league games and at least 1 tournament, with additional practices. Days & Times: Weekdays and weekends (varies by schedule). 

Location: Various fields around the Twin Cities area as part of the MYAS Gopher State traveling league.

14/15a Travel Baseball

All 14 and 15 year-old players enrolled in Como Ball will play on the 14/15a traveling team. 

The 14/15a Travel Baseball League prepares players for high school-level competition by providing top-level coaching, advanced skill development, and high-level competition. This league builds on all the skills players have developed and pushes them to achieve their potential. 

Players will refine their hitting, pitching, and fielding techniques at a competitive level. There is a strong focus on resilience, grit, and game-day preparation as they compete in league games and tournaments.

Schedule: 14 league games and 4 tournaments, with additional practices. Days & Times: Weekdays and weekends (varies by schedule).

Location: Various fields in the Twin Cities area as part of the MYAS Gopher State traveling league.


Softball Leagues

10u Softball (ages 9-10)

The 10u Softball League is designed to introduce young athletes to the foundational skills of softball while building confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game. We aim to create a positive and supportive environment where players can develop their skills and enjoy the sport. 

Players will focus on learning and refining basic softball skills, including throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, and base running. The goal is to improve their mechanics while fostering teamwork and understanding the rules of the game. Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, communication, and having fun as players begin to experience more competitive play. 

Schedule: Practices and games will take place 2-3 times per week.  Days & Times: Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.

12u Softball (ages 11-12)

The 12u Softball League focuses on advancing the skills and competitive mindset of players as they prepare for higher levels of competition. The league emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while fostering a sense of community and pride in their accomplishments.

Players will work on developing more advanced softball techniques, including pitching, hitting for power, field positioning, and base running strategies. Game awareness and decision-making are key areas of focus as players refine their skills and compete at a higher level. Teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship continue to be core values.

Schedule: Practices and games will take place 2-3 times per week. Days & Times: Weekday evenings and weekends.
